On Sunday (June 1) two members of the Hazon team were at Heschel for a marathon meeting to hammer out details for next year's Heschel Hazon Hike Bishvil Yisrael. Nigel - Hazon's director - and Nancy - Outdoor Activities Director - were in Israel from the US for another Hazon event.
It was exciting for the team to be together again for the first time since the inaugural Hike at the end of March. We watched a rough-cut of the Hike video (soon to be made public!) and read a summary of the evals - both exciting recaps of the success and fun we had first time around. We then worked through the major issues to make sure we can launch the 2009 Hike by the end of the month.
We confirmed the dates for the Hike - March 15-19, 2009 - and the basic route along the next main part of the Israel National Trail - Sea-to-Sea: an introductory day on the Kinneret and then a 4-day Hike from Mt. Tavor to the Mediterranean. There will be a substantial early-bird registration discount for the first few months after the launch.
